Display

Test result is displayed as a 2 decimal place %BAC reading e.g. 0.05%BAC (the legal limit)

Green LED will turn on when the device is ready for a test.
It will also turn on when the test result is below the warning level.

Yellow LED will flicker when the battery voltage is low. Replace with new alkaline batteries for optimal results.

If the test result is above 0.05%BAC the “WARN” LED will light up.

Operating instructions

  1. Insert a mouthpiece into the mouthpiece inlet.
  2. Push the ON/OFF button to switch on the device. The device will display “on” along with a welcome sound, and will then start warming up to prepare the sensor and circuit for testing.
  3. When the device beeps and “bLo” is displayed on the screen, take a test by blowing steadily into the mouthpiece. Stop blowing only when you hear another “beep”.
  4. The device will analyse the sample and then display the BAC test result for 20 seconds, along with a beeping sound.
    • If the test result is over 0.05%BAC, the Red “WARN” indicator will light up along with an “Alarm” sound.
    • The result will be displayed for 15-20 seconds along with the “READY” or “WARN” indicator lights.
  5. To take another test, wait for the “READY” or “WARN” light to switch off, and then repeat steps 2 to 4.
Alternatively, hold down the power button for 2 seconds to switch the device off.

Note: If the device is not in use, it will switch off automatically to conserve the batteries. If this happens, just switch the device on by pressing the on/off button.

Battery replacement

The device’s yellow LED light will flicker when the battery voltage is low. Replace with brand new, non-heavy duty, non-rechargeable alkaline batteries for optimal results.

Apply a small amount of pressure on the battery cover located on the back of the unit and push down, and away from the device to release the cover.
